They’re spooky and downright kooky! Mercury Theater Chicago will be performing, “The Addams Family- The Musical” January 28th – April 5th. In a couple of weeks, I will have the pleasure of attending this mysterious musical comedy and shall post a review soon thereafter.
The play is an original twist based on the characters from a cartoon series published in, “The New Yorker” from 1938 to 1988. Charles Addams created the ghoulish group and appropriately named them, “The Addams Family”. Here, take a look:

There were many Addams Family creations derived from the popular Charles Addams cartoons; are you familiar with the hit television sitcom, “The Addams Family”? (1964-1966). Its enormous popularity blossomed in the illustrious world of ‘re-runs’, and to this day can be seen on a throwback tv channel now and again.

Without giving away too much of the play’s plot, let’s just say the, ‘normal’ boyfriend of the now grown up daughter, “Wednesday Addams” will be invited for dinner along with his parents, for what can only be described as a devilishly delightful evening of music and mayhem for all!
Stay tuned for a petrifying (yet musical!) Addams Family post in a few weeks!
Sounds like fun. Looking forward to reading your review.

My family and I loved the TV show. Too bad it didn’t have as long a run as I thought it deserved. Looking forward to your critique! I hope it does its name proud! 🙂
