Saturday Satire, Canadian Style!

– all pictures courtesy of Mo from the http://thecrazycrone.org/.  Mo’s sense of humor is very similar to mine, and she shared these pictures with me knowing my Canuck sense of ‘ha ha’.  If there is one thing I know about Canadians, it is that we can collectively have a laugh at our own expense, all in the name of, “The Great White North”!

Please join me (and Mo, who lives in North Cyprus) with a little, “Canadian Content” to provide a little laugh to your day!

Untitledattachment000165

I am quite certain there are many Canadians (especially those who live in the Provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta) who are grinning from ear to frozen ear with this little montage.  I must confess that during many exasperatingly frigid Prairie winters I felt relieved at the ‘warmer’ temperatures when the -40C had left the region.  Interestingly enough, I found myself switching to a much lighter jacket at -10C, and left my wooly hat at home (I think these gentleman might be exaggerating just a tad, but not by much)!

Untitledattachment000103

If there will ever be an, “app” for this ghastly task, it will be invented by a Canuck; I have no doubt about this whatsoever!

Untitledattachment000072

I have witnessed this scenario many times! Heaven knows what other, ‘treasures’ Canadians find after the snow has subsided! You mean I actually OWN a car? I don’t remember that; perhaps it has something to do with the 6 months of winter in the Prairies!

Untitledattachment0005217

Ah, the polite Canadians; requesting snow stoppage with not so much as a hint of irreverence! *grin*

Lest you think it is only our people who are polite, “PLEASE” take a gander at this:

Untitledattachment0004013

Here’s one for those Canucks who have relatives who had the sheer and utter audacity to move to snow-less locales:

Untitledattachment0006421

“Please” stay warm, my Canucks!

I live in Portland and pray for snow every year. One of those ‘arctic blasts’ that paralyzes the city. It rarely comes (maybe ever 5 years, last year was such a year) and when it doesn’t my wife and I go..’Damn we’ve been ripped off again!’ Our friends in Montana simply say to us ‘shut the hell up!’ Of course, I wouldn’t entertain moving to the prairie! 🙂

I’d trade anytime for Timmies! Garretts? Now, here’s another thing I miss about Canada: Kernels Popcorn! I don’t care for Garretts, but I know I’m in the minority! What’s wrong with me? *LOL*

I am controlling my urge to gasp about the Garretts but everyone’s taste buds are different and we likes what we likes. I just Googled it and there seems to be a Kernels in Illinois.

I;ve been trying to get our US ambassador to Canada to get up a trade: 3 Krispy Kreme Donut Shops for 3 Timmie’s. So far I haven’t received a response. I love my Canadian friends. The only time I see them get excited and a little agreesive is during hockey playoffs. They are amused by my fervor during NCAA college basketball playoffs…

Oh isn’t that funny!! I would trade 10 Krispy Crème Donut Shops for one Timmie’s! *grin* Yes, I know exactly what you are saying. Hockey playoffs will bring out a different side of a Canuck, that is for certain. I too am amused at the excitement people show here over NCAA college basketball playoffs. Canadians don’t understand it!! *grin* Cher xo

Glad you enjoyed the images, Cher. Yes, I did live for 40 years in Australia but now reside in North Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean. I saw some snow when I was back in the UK from 2002-4 and it will last me a lifetime. No offence, but so many years in hot climates has left me determined to avoid snow or cold temperatures at any cost. And for your information and laughter, we think it’s very, very cold when temps drop to 8C (46.5F). Wimp, aren’t I? 😀
