A while back I posted a photo taken from Chicago’s, “Willis Tower” (formerly known and still hailed by some as the, “Sears Tower”). Having some wonderful Canadian friends here this past weekend, the plan of the majority was to visit, “Skydeck”; the observatory on the 103rd floor of this iconic structure.
At 1,353 feet above the much more relaxed feeling of the sidewalk, the Willis Tower is the 8th largest building in the world; it’s the largest building in the Western Hemisphere. While I was sipping on a soda across the street, our Canadian crew snapped this photo which shows Chicago facing North. Can you spot the other giant of the sky; the, “John Hancock Building?” Lake Michigan with its blue-green water frames some of the background quite nicely, don’t you think?
Interesting, the concept of height. The views from this floor are, to say the least, spectacular. As for me, why, I like the thought of saying (after the fact), “Oh, isn’t that a great shot you took from WAY UP THERE!”, as opposed to, “I need to get down from here 5 minutes ago!” And that is the long (and short) of it!
oooo I like this height!! 😆

Just cream, thanks! I know you have it just like it is ‘supposed to be’; no adding in anything, right Andy? *slurps coffee wondering how many times Andy has jumped up and down in the glass observation box*!!! ;-P

*LOL* Thank you! Well yes, for me, I just find it dizzying! Although many people love it! If you note Andy’s comments, he loves heights!!! Not me! Cher xo

It’s the same with my wife and I. She would never be caught dead up there. Me, no problem. 🙂

I would be the one yelling get me out of here five minutes ago… but I would also have to grit my teeth and take one photo as I couldn’t miss out on that spectacular opportunity!

*LOL* I know that feeling! Here’s an interesting factoid: sometimes it will take 15 minutes or more to get down to the ground, as there is always a line-up for the elevators! It’s quite the process! 😉
