The Chicago Files

A CANADIAN EXPAT'S EXPERIENCES AND OBSERVATIONS LIVING IN THE WINDY CITY!

National Coffee DayOh how I wish I had a Tim Hortons coffee! Alas, my favorite Canadian coffee is still not available in Chicago.  Nonetheless, apparently today is, “National Coffee Day” here in the US.  I thought I’d post a silly cartoon of yours truly diving into a pool of my favorite beverage!

Happy National Coffee Day (or at the very least, “Happy Tuesday”)!

I actually had a Costa coffee this afternoon at work so I guess I helped you celebrate 🙂 Of course, usually I’m swimming in Tea or Ale 😉

Sorry about the Timmies, I did a Google Earth search combined with the Tim Horton website store locater. The nearest one to you seems to be in Kalamazoo, MI. Bummer. I’d go to one here in Vegas but of course there are none, we are 2000+ miles from the nearest store. We had one right in the podunk town we lived in in Michigan… The drivethru was always jammed up, right out onto the main road sometimes. Gotta brew your own I guess. Kurig anyone?

Hi John! Awh, did you? Thank you for checking it out for me! Yes, that description of the drivethru is EXACTLY what happens in Canadaland every day! *LOL* In fact, Winnipeg has a double-drivethru and traffic backs up so badly they have security directing traffic in the morning! Oh, Canada!!!! *biggest grin* Cher xo

Isn’t it possible to buy your coffee online from Canada and get it sent to Chicago?

Ah, thank you dear Irene! Would you believe that there is a Tim Hortons US site and they stopped selling it for a while. For some reason we had trouble getting it from the Canadian site as well, come to think of it. But I’m hoping someone from “back home” will read this and send us some SOON!! *biggest grin* Cher xo

Today of all days there should be emergency air transport to deliver Timmy’s to the needy. Start a petition? Enjoy your Tuesday, Cher. 🙂

Pass it here and I’ll sign! I keep looking outside every time I hear a loud noise, but it’s only thunder. I’m sure they haven’t forgotten us, right? Because that would be rude. 😉

Well it’s Wednesday over here already… And I spent Tuesday on a plane with no real access to coffee. So I will brew a pot of Sumatra and join my caffeinated counterparts in the West where it is still Tuesday for a while.
